We will cover three essentials of effective lab leadership: creating genuine engagement\, fostering mentee independence (so they can solve problems without you)\, and mastering the art of constructive feedback. Come ready to practice real-world scenarios and walk away with practical strategies you can use in the lab tomorrow. \nBiography:\nRebecca Dunning is the Director of the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research National Leadership Program (FFAR Fellows) comprised of 200+ PhD students in universities across the US and Canada. Rebecca also provides student and faculty leadership and organizational development training at North Carolina State University.
