Jenny Ovental

Jennifer graduated with a B.S. Chemical Engineering degree in May 2012 from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. She began working at DuPont at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE in July 2012. There, she worked as an Associate Investigator in Central Research and Development, Chemical Science and Engineering. Her research there focused on separation and isolation techniques for a batch polymerization proceess. In August 2013, Jennifer left DuPont to begin her PhD at NC State.

She joined the Parsons and Khan groups in December 2013, and has been working on a range of techniques to modify fiber substrates. Specifically, she has worked on the development of liquid-phase layer-by-layer coating processes, modification of electrospun nanofibers though the addition of fumed nanoparticles, and the construction and process optimization of a novel spatial atomic layer deposition reactor for porous polymeric media.
