Steve Barilovits, a native of Charlotte, NC received his BS in Chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill in 2012, graduating with highest honors. There he conducted research on microfluidic devices in the analytical chemistry division. After graduation, Steve spent a year growing his small business and travelling the globe. Attracted to the application-oriented nature of engineering, he joined NCSU’s Chemical Engineering PhD program in fall 2013. He has conducted research on heterogeneous catalysis and is currently investigating a meltblowing fiber formation process with the Nonwovens Institute.
