Professor Fanxing Li is an Energy and Fuels Rising Star

Cover of Energy & Fuels issue to honor its 2021 rising starsThe editors and members of the editorial advisory board of the Energy & Fuels journal have selected Professor Fanxing Li as one of the 29 members of its inaugural class of Energy and Fuels Rising Stars. “At the time of nomination, rising star candidates should be in their independent research careers, 12 years or less after the award of Ph.D. degrees, and have made significant impacts to respective areas of energy research.”

To celebrate the inaugural class, Energy & Fuels published a Virtual Special Issue that features a collection of papers contributed by the Rising Stars.

Energy & Fuels is a joint publication of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Energy & Fuels and the Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Division. Founded in 1987, the journal “aspires to publish the most exciting fundamental and applied research in the field of energy and fuels.”

Professor Li’s research interests include energy and environmental engineering and particle technology. His research focuses on the design, synthesis, and characterization of nano catalyst and reagent particles for biomass and fossil energy conversions, green liquid fuel synthesis, CO2 capture, and pollutant control. The research also encompasses chemical reaction engineering and process synthesis and optimization. Density Functional Theory (DFT) based methods are used to elucidate the particle reaction mechanisms and to identify potential ways to improve particle performance.

Congratulations to Prof. Li for your research accomplishments and this recognition of their significance!
