His PhD work aims to form compostable packing from chitosan SDCs. The focus will be on finding a scalable way to make SDC films while providing a barrier for water and oxygen for food packaging.\u00a0Pedro\u00a0will be co-advised by Prof. Lilian Hsiao. His goal is to develop hydrogel-based tactile sensors that are flexible, transparent, biocompatible, inexpensive, and biodegradable.
