CBE Alumna Named a 2024 Responsible Care & Sustainability Future Leader

Sarah Taylor (B.S. ’21) works as a Sustainability Analyst at Albemarle Corporation’s headquarters in Charlotte, NC. In this role she contributes to Albemarle’s sustainability reporting, data collection and disclosures, and development of the company’s sustainability strategy. She joined Albemarle in 2021 as part of the company’s LAUNCH rotational program, where she worked in product management and corporate sustainability roles. She earned dual bachelor degrees in Chemical Engineering – with a sustainability concentration – and Spanish.

The sustainable engineering, energy and environment concentration is becoming increasingly more important for future chemical engineers. The field of sustainable engineering and energy is a collection of overlapping, related focus areas including: green chemistry, pollution prevention, alternative energy, greenhouse gas mitigation, and environmentally-friendly product design. The concentration connects chemical engineering concepts with global grand challenges in the generation of clean and affordable energy, as well as sustainable and environmentally responsible engineering practices.

The 2024 Responsible Care® & Sustainability Future Leaders is a designation announced by the American Chemistry Council. The exemplary professionals selected are helping to shape the future of the chemical industry with their dedication to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. Their vision is a world made better by chemistry, where people live happier, healthier, and more prosperous lives, safely and sustainably – for generations to come.

We are so proud of Sarah, and all CBE alumni that are working to make our world more sustainable!
