Go Figure: Impactful Graphics for Impactful Publications

This presentation will begin with a brief overview of the manuscript submission, peer-review, and publication process employed by Wiley’s materials science journals. From there we will take a closer look at a key component of any scientific manuscript; the graphical representation of results in figures and tables. We will cover a range of topics related to best practices for preparing figures for manuscripts, including, but, not limited to: what does an editor look for in a good figure, original research versus review figures, and software suggestions for making great graphics. In addition to tips and tricks, we will look at real-world examples from existing publications to see how the concepts are put into practice and allow plenty of time for questions and discussion
