On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, our former Research Professor Dr. Stoyan Smoukov visited with the department and presented a special seminar!
Dr. Smoukov is currently a Reader at Queen Mary University of London and led the Active & Intelligent Materials lab 2012-2017 at the University of Cambridge. He has published 80 journal papers and has been cited over 2600 times! When he worked with the Velev group, Dr. Smoukov co-founded the startup Xanofi for producing nanofibers.
On Tuesday, Dr. Smoukov gave a fantastic talk titled “Emerging Material Robotics” to highlight the research he has been working on recently.
