A recent publication on “Printable homocomposite hydrogels with synergistically reinforced molecular-colloidal networks” in Nature Communications garnered a lot of attention and press releases! Our group member Austin Williams, who successfully defended his PhD dissertation last week, and previous group member Sangchul Roh worked on designing 3D-printable gels with improved and highly controlled properties. Such strong and flexible homocomposite hydrogels have the potential to be most useful in medical products, in food products as a thickening agent, or in soft robotics.
